Summary of “Dublin’s Fair City”

Ulysses, voted the best book written in the English language in the 20th century. Joyce said that if Dublin was destroyed it could be rebuilt from the pages of his book. Why not take a fun visit into the pages of the great book and see the places described by Joyce as we tour the home of Stephen Dudalas (Joyce’s Tower in Sandycove) ramble through Marsh’s Library (the only chained library in Ireland) opened on certain days, the tour culminates in Davy Byrne Pub mentioned in Ulysses.

Visit the Guinness Storehouse and discover all there is to know about the world-famous beer. A dramatic story, that begins over 250 years ago and still going strong today.

St. Patrick Cathedral dates from 1191, its predecessor marked the spot where St Patrick baptized and converted the pagan Irish Lords. St Patrick’s also contains the largest and most interesting collection of church monuments in Ireland. It is celebrated for its long association with Jonathan Swift who served as Dean from 1713-1745. Extensively restored by the Guinness family in the Victorian period.
